The randu tree is a plant that originated in the tropics of the Americas, then spread to the African region including Asia. The family of malvaceae is very well known for its main benefit as a fiber producer. This fiber is often used as the main filling material for pillows and mattresses. 

Randu is classified as a large tree with a trunk diameter of up to 3 meters and a height of up to 70 merers, and has a conical spiny trunk. Its roots spread widely with horizontal growth around the soil surface.

Growth of Kapok Randu

Randu trees generally grow in tropical climates, particularly southern and central America. Kapok plants can grow well if they grow on flat land contours with a good drainage system. 

In the early days of its growth, the need for rainwater for kapok trees is very high. However, when the tree is in a state of fruiting and flowering, randu is able to live in dry areas with a maximum height of 70 m.
