Every process of export activities is very important, one of which is stuffing. Stuffing is an important process which is very crucial if not done optimally.
Quality Control
Stuffing is one of the processes of transporting goods to containers. The process from goods from the warehouse to transportation to the container is not that simple. Carrying out Quality Control activities from the warehouse is very important, because it is feared that errors will occur if they have been transported in containers. Things that need to be considered during Quality Control are packaging in the form of balls. The process for packing kapok products also has its own standards. First, the kapok is pressed with a press tool with the top and bottom sides given sacks, then the kapok is pressed to form a cube, then to lock it using a steel plate. After being locked, the kapok is removed from the press tool, and the other side is closed by sewing. So that it becomes 1 balle kapok.
Another Quality Control process is checking the kapok using a metal detector. The purpose of this process is to check whether there is metal in each packaged kapok or not. If there is metal in the kapok packaging, it will be detrimental to the exporter because it is considered unprofessional and deceiving by the buyer.
Then, there is also the process of checking the water content in the kapok. The water content in the kapok affects the quality of the kapok when it reaches the buyer. Excessive kapok content is not good for the kapok when it is in the container. The condition of the kapok that is too dry is also not good, because it will result in the kapok being damaged during the shipping process due to heat during the trip.
Labeling
The labeling process is also an important part of stuffing. Providing label paper on each balle is very important. The label paper lists the weight and number of the balle. The label paper is attached to each balle in the upper position so that it can be seen easily.
Transporting Balles to Trucks
The next process is transporting the kapok balle to the top of the kapok. The transportation of kapok is also not simply raised freely, it requires optimal arrangement so that it can be efficiently transported into trucks in large quantities. Effective placement also makes it easier to place kapok and avoid damage to the bale. And also, effective placement of bales also makes it easier to move bales from trucks to containers.
Stuffing
The last process is stuffing itself. Moving each 100kg bale into a container requires 8-9 people. The position of each bale also affects the stuffing process, calculating the placement of the bale so that it is filled to the maximum. The stuffing process is also very detailed, documenting each stuffing process, starting from the arrival of the container, opening the container door, ensuring the container is empty, moving the ball into the container in a 25% full condition, moving the ball into the container in a 50% full condition, moving the ball into the container in a 75% full condition, moving the ball into the container in a 100% full condition, in the last pile to prevent the goods from falling when opened there is a rope that is installed crosswise, closing the door on 1 side, closing the door on both sides, locking the container and finally the departure of the container.
